The 2012 acad­emy will be held June 4 — 7 2012 at a the OUIn­cu­ba­tor on the Oak­land Uni­ver­sity campus.

Loca­tion: The OU INC office is located in Shotwell-Gustafson Pavil­ion on the cam­pus of Oak­land Uni­ver­sity near Meadow Brook Hall.

Oak­land University’s Smart­Zone Busi­ness Incu­ba­tor (OU INC) pro­vides entre­pre­neur­ial resources and strate­gic busi­ness solu­tions to develop intel­lec­tual prop­erty. The incu­ba­tor sup­ports exist­ing and grows new technology-based and life sci­ence busi­nesses with uni­ver­sity resources, deci­sion sup­port tech­nol­ogy, busi­ness coun­sel­ing ser­vices and financial/capital acqui­si­tion assistance.

The state of Michi­gan, city of Rochester Hills and Oak­land Uni­ver­sity cre­ated a cer­ti­fied tech­nol­ogy park (CTP) under the aus­pices of the Michi­gan Eco­nomic Devel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (MEDC) that is part of the Great Lakes Inter­change, an Oak­land County Automa­tion Alley Smart­Zone, and includes tax incre­ment financ­ing to sup­port OU INC.

The OU INCu­ba­tor is also home to the OUClean Energy Research Cen­ter.

Grand Valley State UniversityOur 2011 acad­emy was held in Grand Rapids at the Cen­ter for Entre­pre­neur­ship and Inno­va­tion (CEI) in the Sei­d­man Col­lege of Busi­ness at Grand Val­ley State Uni­ver­sity.  CEI serves to cham­pion and cat­alyze the voca­tion of entre­pre­neur­ship and is a com­mu­nity asset for entre­pre­neur­ial resources.
